It Looks Like Christmas

Yesterday we went to several Disney hotels to look at their Christmas displays before checking into our hotel at the Boardwalk. We then went to Hollywood Studios to ride fun rides, watch live shows, and see the Spectacle of Lights. That light display was just awesome! I told Scott he needed to decorate our house like that next year. hehe Today we're going to the Magic Kingdom. It's going to be a hot day with 84 degree temps and very high humidity. We'll be smelling pretty by the time we get back to the room tonight. lol

Goodbye Fort

Today we'll move out of the motorhome and into our room at the Boardwalk Villas. I will miss the calm of the wilderness. Actually last night was pretty lively here. We went to the campfire to watch the Disney movie, Brave, and to roast marshmallows. There was me, my husband, my parents, and about one thousand excited children. What was that I said about peace & quiet? After the movie we saw a golf cart parade. Wow these campers go all out for Christmas. Not only are the campsites decorated more than our neighborhood, but they also decorate their golf carts. Our favorite was one that looked like a box with the word "Fragile" on it and a leg lamp on top just like a Christmas Story.

1 Billion Served

Evidently we were not the only people who decided to beat the Christmas rush by coming to Disney World this week. It's packed. Lol It is fun to people watch, if nothing else. Today we're at Downtown Disney. It's our day of rest. Hehe

Ft Wilderness

We arrived in Orlando last night and Disney picked us up and dropped us off at F t Wilderness where we met my parents in their RV. This will be our home for another 2 nights. I love the quiet of this place. It feels so remote, but is just a boatride away from the Magic Kingdom. We're going there now and then to EPCOT for dinner. ** unfortunately my tablet's camera keeps crashing, so these posts may be text only until we can exchange the tablet or find a fix **

Portland

We spent a restful night at Peggy's house and then arrived at the airport. The security line was long and I guess I looked questionable, so I was selected for a pat down. Lol I blame my very supportive underwire. Hehe

The Fun Begins!

Vanessa.... You just finished making a ton of Christmas cards! What are you going to do now??? I'm doing to Disney World! Yes folks, we're going to Florida. We're leaving home on Wednesday, spending the night in Portland at my friend, Peggy's, house and then flying to Orlando on Thursday. I'm hoping to update this blog every couple of days over the next few weeks. I hope you'll check back to see what's new and exciting along the journey. TTFN (Ta Ta For Now)

Vacation Time

I'm looking forward to our upcoming vacation. I will try to update this blog on a regular basis, but that will be dependent on WiFi availability. Meanwhile I need to figure out how to take photos with the tablet to add to these posts. This will be a learning process, but I think in the end it will be a great memento of our trip, plus our friends and family can see where we are and what we're doing along the way. More to come...
